Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club, Ocala, FL: Homes, Living & Real Estate Guide
A gated club community in northwest Ocala where you can play a hole modeled on Augusta in the morning and ride oak-lined bridle paths in the afternoon, right next door to the World Equestrian Center.
Overview
Why Golden Ocala stands out
Most golf communities give you a course and a clubhouse. Golden Ocala adds horses.
The club sits on more than 1,200 acres of rolling land in northwest Ocala, and it shares a border with the World Equestrian Center, so show jumping, golf and dinner at the club can all happen without getting back on the highway.
It's private and gated, owned by the Roberts family, and laid out as 10 separate neighborhoods. That matters when you shop, because the style of home, the view and the dues can change a lot from one enclave to the next.
Golf
The golf: 27 holes and a famous idea
Architect Ron Garl designed the original 18 here in 1986, and it's widely called the world's first replica golf course. He worked in eight tribute holes from five famous courses: three from Augusta National, two from St.
Andrews, and one each from Royal Troon, Baltusrol and Muirfield. Golden Ocala's 6th recreates Augusta's par-3 16th, and its 4th copies the "Postage Stamp" green at Royal Troon.
The club now counts 11 tribute holes and 27 holes in all, with a newer nine alongside the original course. Members also get a six-acre short game area, two practice holes and a full driving range.
The course has hosted LPGA events, including the Coates Golf Championship.
Equestrian
Horses next door to WEC
The Golden Ocala Equestrian Center is built for people who want their horse close to home. Stabling comes in 4-, 6- and 8-stall barns, or single stalls with day care, plus individual turnout, a wash stall and 24-hour barn security with night checks.
Bridle paths run under big oaks and end with a view of the lake. When you want to compete, the World Equestrian Center is right next door, with climate-controlled indoor arenas, outdoor rings and stabling for more than 2,000 horses.
Club life
Spa, tennis and dining
Off the course, the club runs three restaurants and a 17,000-square-foot spa and tennis facility with a resort-style pool, a fitness center, a salon, and steam and sauna rooms. Tennis players get six lighted Har-Tru, Hydro-Grid courts with USPTA-certified pros, USTA leagues and a junior program.

Neighborhoods
The 10 neighborhoods
Each enclave has its own feel. The Residences are attached golf villas of 1,960 square feet with two bedrooms and 2.5 baths, up on a hill over the 16th hole.
Fox Hounds sits on a ridge above the 6th and 7th holes, with several floor plans plus custom options, and golfer's porches that look out over the 6th.
Clubside Village I is next to the spa, fitness center and tennis courts with views of the lake, and Clubside Village II looks out over holes 1 and 9; plans in both start at 1,700 square feet. You'll also see Grotto Park and Masters Village I and II on the club's map.

Prices & dues
What homes cost and what you'll pay monthly
Dues vary by neighborhood and club membership is extra. Figures as reported by the sources listed at the bottom of the page.
This is one of the priciest addresses in Marion County. Bex Realty's look at MLS sales over the past three years puts the median sold price at $2.15M, with a median home size of 4,261 square feet, about $492 a square foot and a median of 63 days on market.
Homes sold at about 98% of list price.
HOA dues depend on the neighborhood. Momentum Realty's review of 155 MLS records shows a median of about $333 a month, most of it billed quarterly, and Estate Vida's smaller 2026 sample came in at $4,500 a year.
Club membership is a separate bill, so ask for both numbers on any home you're serious about.
Who it fits
Who Golden Ocala fits
It's a strong fit if you want golf and horses in the same place, like a private-club social life, and want to be minutes from WEC. It's a weaker fit if you want low monthly costs or a lot of acreage; for land, look at the farms around it in horse farm country.
If you'd rather have a 55+ golf community, compare Stone Creek.
